Quayside tower

Quayside Tower is run by a charitable organisation, Octavius Learning and Development Partnership. They are a team led by women and specialise in Community project management, learning development, apprenticeships and more.

My role

In this project, I worked closely with them to create a platform in which members will be able to book part of the office space to complete work.

UX designer - Matthew Quarless

Tools used - Figma, Photoshop

Main focus

Creating a seamless user experience - I recognised that people who who will be utilising this website will coming here for a very specific prepose. As Quayside Tower will be one of a few websites that OLDP posses, I do not want to create a website that can do everything that other website in the organisation can do.

Booking system - The main focus of this website is to allow users to book a collaborative space to work in or to have somewhere away from home to work.

Linking to small business - As Quayside lounge is run by a charitable organisation, we wanted to allow small businesses to promote themselves on out website.

Competitor analysis

When researching into competitors, I researched into the core functionalities of their websites and understand the main market for the people who will be using this physical space.

Core objectives

Volunteer

Book a place at the hub

Empathy map

After conducting a competitor analysis, I used those findings to be able to formulate my empathy map. I used the information I gathered such as, what competitors offer and what their target customers are to define my empathy map.

Wireframes

After identifying this project's key objectives, I could translate my ideas into lo-fi wireframes. After testing the app's layout, I came up with these designs.

Reflection

Challenges

Being able to create a professional and simplistic website that follows the clients needs and wants all in a few simple but effective web pages.

Next steps

As this business "OLDP" is a small charitable business the requirements for the website were very low and simplistic. I hope to soon be able to be part of the launch of the website and continue adding features and assist in the growth of the website.
